A maximum of sixteen people attend, and we sit in a circle.
If you book in as an issue holder, then when you're ready we'll clarify what it is you most yearn for and long to be different. I'll ask about your family, especially major events and traumas, and suggest you choose group members to represent family forces that I feel may be affecting your current situation. Often these will be people such as mum, grandparents, a stillborn uncle, or they could be other relevant influences like the war or the Catholic Church. Generally I'll suggest you choose a group member to represent you too.
The remarkable thing is that these representatives somehow know where to position themselves in relation to each other, and, even more mysterious, how they feel in relation to each other. It's incredibly reassuring to watch your own representative, a complete stranger, accurately portray your innermost thoughts and feelings.
Those involved tell us how they feel, in themselves and in relation to each other, and because there's a shared perception of truth it soon becomes easy and natural to trust the process. Once the dynamics are clearly recognized, then as facilitator I'll work with the representatives towards some sort of resolution. This might involve rituals such as bowing, or simply asking people to state their truth in a respectful and non attacking way. The representatives each know what's true for them, and it's important I listen and work with this understanding rather than imposing an idea or theory. The constellation ends when the system feels better in a deep and profound way. The shift, in both client and surrounding energy, facilitates change that endures well beyond the group room.
Each constellation normally takes twenty to sixty minutes.
A wonderful aspect of group constellation work is that you can attend as a representative, be part of the holding group and help with the work of others. I ask that you come with an open mind and heart, but your own concerns are not exposed unless you choose. It offers a safe way to find out if this approach suits you. Group members almost always find they gain insights and healing simply from being involved for the day.
